Abundant Wonder Preschool is a respect and play-based home preschool program. Our name is reflective of children’s innate passion for exploring the world around them. It is our pleasure to provide an inclusive and anti-biased environment in which your child is respected and honored for who they are as an individual and as a part of the local and global community. We strive to combine aspects of all of the natural, respect-based child guidance methods with high quality supplies and nourishment plus a play-based preschool curriculum to prepare your child for their school-aged years and beyond.
COVID NOTE: ALL children in our care are REQUIRED to be up to date on Covid vaccinations. We have taken the Covid pandemic very seriously since the beginning and intend to continue to do everything we can to keep our little ones and family as well as possible. Most of the following restrictions will be lifted as our AW community is comfortable doing so:
- Everyone aged 2+ wears a KN95 mask indoors,
- All eligible adults and children are vaccinated,
- Proper handwashing upon arrival and throughout the day,
- We have paused all indoor outings. Outdoor outings only.
It is our pleasure to provide an environment
in which your child is respected and honored
for who they are as an individual.
We trust that children are intelligent people that are able to do and understand more than they are given credit. They can excel in any task they wish, given the opportunity to explore, learn, and succeed with respectful, consistent, loving support. By maintaining a teacher/child ratio of ~1:5, we can more individually foster wonder in each child in our care. We take time to discover and provide stimulus for each child’s interests and skill levels as well as introduce new concepts along the way. AW also conducts age-appropriate evaluations of the children and holds parent-teacher conferences each year to help ensure children are ready for elementary school when the time comes. We look forward to meeting your family and working as a team to support your children’s growth in all areas of life.

We are committed to providing children at Abundant Wonder Preschool the best possible meals in an effort to encourage better health, expanded palates, and a respectful relationship with food as a foundation for accomplishing everything they hope and dream. We participate in the Federal Food Program which means we offer required meal components and get reimbursed for a (small) portion of the cost; this allows us to provide high quality meals while keeping tuition more affordable. We feel it is important to use as many plant-based, seasonal, organic, local and whole food ingredients as possible so most of our food is homemade. Along the same lines, we grow some of our own produce, and we compost and recycle what we can.

It is our intention to stay active in our community by attending enrichment events and are excited to be able to provide these fun and beneficial activities to your child(ren). These activities will provide social interactions with children of various ages, the ability to learn new skills, and opportunities for new experiences. Examples of some activities are library story times, music class, cooking, and field trips. We will let parents know ahead of time when we are planning excursions and special activities. We find that the children enjoy outings approximately once or twice per week, so we keep a good balance of “stay home days” and away times.
In conclusion, we support & provide:
- play as learning
- respectful parenting/child-guidance
- low ratios (1:5)
- nutritious meals
- eco-friendly practices
- enrichment opportunities
Plus, we encourage:
- cloth diaper use
- gentle & confident guidance throughout potty learning & mastery

“Our vision is a world in which all children are treated
with dignity, respect, understanding, and compassion.
In such a world, every child can grow into adulthood
with a generous capacity for love and trust.
Our society has no more urgent task.”
